I am a 3X survivor of cervical, lymph node and lung cancer.  I began my cancer journey at the age of 32 and I am now 46. Last year I was genetically tested and I tested positive for Braci 1 which put me at a 95% risk of breast and ovarian cancer.  I made a decision to have a double mastectomy and to have my ovaries removed. After my mastectomy I chose to have expansion reconstruction.   I am proud to say I have been in remission for ten years.  My life was normal once.  I went about life doing usual things like being a working mother of three, a wife and my worries were minimal.  Now sometimes I fear the unknown, sometimes bravely and sometimes not.  But I accept this.  I think positive as many before me have succeeded.  I have a lot of life to lead and I plan on leading it as normal as I possibly can.

Chemotherapy can rob you of dignity, hair and stomach contents but it cannot take away who you are.  It cannot take your humour, compassion or the love for your family and friends.  It teaches you to make the most out of any situation. In some ways cancer has taught me to live.  Without cancer I would never had known inner courage.  Once I learned this inner courage I fed off it.  I turned a negative into a positive and found the needs of cancer patients and those affected by it. I feel I was left here for a reason and I believe it was to help others.

I opened a store providing fashionable headwear, natural skin care, prosthetics, bras and lingerie for prosthetics, menopausal sleepwear and many inspirational gifts. Most of all we offer support. We have and will continue to fundraise so we can help support the financial needs of cancer affiliated organizations. The fear that comes with a cancer diagnosis should never be handled alone.  If someone would have walked into my life who was a living survivor and had a good quality of life, it would have made a huge difference in those early days.  I hope by sharing my story it will help give others hope.
